Choosing Your Yoyo
Before you start banging out your yoyo tricks, you need to decide what kind of yoyo you are going to use. There are two types: responsive and unresponsive yoyos. Each of these yoyos has a different skill set and trick set. A responsive Yoyo will return to your hand when you tug on it, whereas an unresponsive Yoyo will not. For it to return, you must do a trick called the bind.

For the sake of this tutorial, we will be using a responsive Yoyo.
Fitting the string
You might have gotten the string separated from the Yoyo and been confused as to how to tie it. If it came attached, great! you can continue.
If it wasn’t, here’s what you need to do:
Hold the string like this:

Hold the string at the end that has no finger knot, and a few inches back pinch it and twist the finger:

the string should now open up like above, slip the knot onto the yoyo
and done!

Throwing The Yoyo Properly
So! Now that you have your yoyo up and running you should learn how to hold and throw the yoyo properly.
The first step is holding it properly hold your palm up and string facing up

hold out your hand in a muscle shape [💪] and make sure the yoyo rolls out of the middle finger, if you throw it powerful enough the yoyo will sleep that is roll on the end of the string without coming back up to your hand. once you are done simply tug (while the yoyo is spinning)
and it will come back to your hand

If all goes well you should be able to do all these tricks
1. Walk the dog
Walk the dog is a very beginner-friendly trick by doing a strong sleeper and letting the yoyo run on the ground you will see that the yoyo will move forward without you moving it!

2. Rock The Baby
First, throw a good sleeper then bring your free hand in front of the string:

and bring your other hand down and pinch the string a few inches above the yoyo:

Then switch the position of your hands and start swinging the yoyo through the gap

3. The Elevator
First, throw a strong sleeper, then put your finger in front of the string

and once the string is in place start moving your hands apart

If you did the trick properly the yoyo should look like it’s moving upward!
Conclusion
Congratulation! you are on your way to becoming a yoyoing master. Keep practicing and most importantly have fun!
